It's autumn, and Kat's out a lot - running, walking, and driving, trying to hold on to the last few nice days before a long winter sets in.

So today I took some pictures while driving about. Pretty, huh?

Michigan's fall colors are quite famous in the States. Here's a little piece about it.

Local papers are usually lighter and more approachable in terms of writing. It can be a nice change from the heavy stuff found in the big papers.

I guess the meanings of "hit" in the first and the second sentences are quite similar, aren't they?

Great job! And yes, the meanings of "hit" in these sentences may not vary that much, but what's good to know is that "hit" is the best word for them in those contexts. Other wordings just don't quite have the same feel.
